The company was founded 1986 by Holger Stonjek and his friend Gerd Gorzelke. At this time, Holger Stonjek was a trainee as a piano builder at "Wilhelm Schimmel Pianofortefabrik GmbH". The company name derived from the first wrokshop adress "Am Sandberg" in Ehmen.
