The CR series of electric double basses, with their exceptional versatility and sound quality, have become almost an indispensable instrument for the serious bassist. The slim, solid body of the CR series joins the long history of instruments made in the Czech Republic. The CR Series is available in 4- and 5-string models and is crafted from select maple and ebony. The full-scale fingerboard is graduated to ensure consistent response from note to note and features adjustable relief and bridge height to accommodate all playing styles. Our Polar bridge pickup system combines great tone with directional sensitivity for a rich and expressive response for pizzicato and arco techniques. Optional magnetic EMG pickups expand the range to include classic electric bass sounds. Its clean aesthetics, excellent playability and great sound make it one of the best basses in the world;" Three interchangeable stand systems are available for the bass: the self-supporting tripod stand, the more conventional endpin stand, and the shoulder strap for full mobility. COPPER HEAD AND NECK: The CR Series double bass body and neck are made from solid European hard maple with a flamed maple top. The neck has a traditional upright shape but with extended access to the upper register of the fingerboard. The solid body improves sustain and clarity and is resistant to temperature and humidity changes. Ebony Fingerboard: The waxed ebony fingerboard is hand-graded to ensure that every note is consistent and buzz-free. An adjustable truss rod allows for precise adjustment of the relief for different strings and playing styles. Small dots on the neck provide precise position markings. POLAR BRIDGE PICKUP SYSTEM: The Polar pickups can sense either lateral or vertical string vibrations - or both! In lateral mode, the pickup has unparalleled sensitivity in the direction of the bow. In vertical mode, the plucked notes are remarkably even and sustained. EMG MAGNETIC PICKUPS: The low-impedance EMG pickups are equipped with individually adjustable coils and neodymium magnets. Each coil is buffered separately to achieve full sound quality with very low noise. (Magnetic pickups are optional. Only the models marked with the letter M have magnetic coils) ACTIVE EQ AND MIXER: Controls include volume, a blend control for magnetic and piezo pickups, a toggle switch for selecting the Polar pickup mode, and individual controls for bass EQ & amp and treble EQ. The 18-volt power supply provides plenty of reserves for full dynamics. ADJUSTABLE BRIDGE: The bridge can be adjusted up and down using two screws on the back of the body. This allows the instrument to be adjusted to the requirements of many different playing styles. THREE STAND OPTIONS: 1. TRIPOD STAND - The TRIPOD STAND supplied as standard offers a stable hold and can be adjusted in height and angle. The stand can be folded up and fits into the gig bag. 2. End Pin Stand - An optional end pin stand offers the double bassist a more traditional position, similar to that of an acoustic instrument. 3. Shoulder Strap System - A lightweight frame construction is supported by a single guitar-like strap that goes over the left shoulder. This holds the bass in the correct position for pizz. and arco styles. The strap system allows you to achieve full mobility with amazing comfort. PORTABILITY: The padded, tubular gig bag is only 137 cm long and 18 cm in diameter. With instrument and stand it weighs 8.2 kg (18 lbs). A storage compartment inside the gig bag provides space for accessories. The loaded gig bag fits in the overhead compartment of most commercial aircraft. An optional flight Case measures 145 x 25 x 25 cm (57" x 10" x 10").
