Sequential today introduced the desktop module of the high-performance polyphonic synthesizer Trigon-6, the modern version of a true analog classic. The desktop version is a compact and portable instrument that still combines all the sound production options of its impressive keyboard twin. It features three oscillators per voice and a ladder filter that has been equipped with its own drive and feedback control, so you can go from silky and gentle tones to fat and crisp with just the push of a button. This versatility makes Trigon-6 the perfect companion for your studio or live performance. The desktop module is more than just a smaller version of the Trigon-6 keyboard. It is an expressive and potent instrument that delivers a warm, organic, analogue sound. "Desktop modules continue to be very popular with our gamers," said CEO David Gibbons. "We spent a little more time on the polyphonic MIDI expression capabilities when finalizing this module, expecting people to combine it with some of the great MPE-capable controllers on the market. The Trigon 6 desktop module features a classic synthesizer architecture with three oscillators and an advanced ladder filter, inspired by some of the most iconic analog synthesizers of all time. The three oscillators provide a rich and flexible sound source with familiar waveforms from triangle to more complex sawtooth and variable width pulse waves. You can mix and match the oscillators to create complicated harmonics, detune them for thick chorus effects , or sync Oscillator 2 for hard growls. The Ladder Filter is the heart and soul of the Trigon-6, providing a smooth and musical response that can shape your sound from creamy and smooth to harsh and aggressive. The filter features a switchable 2/4-pole slope and adjustable resonance that can add a distinctive peak or even oscillate itself to create screaming leads and sci-fi effects . With the Trigon-6 you can now play any note with MPE. MIDI Polyphonic Expression (MPE) is an extension of MIDI that allows compatible devices to control multiple parameters of individual notes in MPE-enabled synthesizers. This allows for more expressive instrumental performances as each note can have its own pitch bend, filter cutoff, amplitude and other modulations.
