A novel class-A jFET circuit combined with a custom wound nickel core transformer delivers 28dB of transformer infused gain. After extensive tests and prototyping we came up with a very portable solution to get a stellar sound with just a regular dynamic microphone. Get a produced sound within seconds. Many high-end studio grade preamps, compressors, equalizers and consoles have something in common. They all have transformers in the signal path. These transformers impart a huge sonic footprint on those designs. Audio transformers affect the sound quality because they are non-linear. They add a little harmonic distortion and compression to the signal which our ears perceive as “warm and thick”.
