The elementary string method (ESM) is an innovative teaching and learning method for modern string lessons based on relative solmization. The central concern of the ESM is the parallel training of instrumental and musical skills from the first lesson. Games, activities, songs and pieces of music enable the playful acquisition of basic musical, rhythmic and technical knowledge.
The child-friendly design underlines the playful nature of the method. Catchy symbols, images, drawings, short texts and “checklists” encourage the student to be independent when trying out the various tasks and to be responsible for controlling their learning.
