Microphone classics of the 21st century - now even better
The sE Electronics sE2200 is the expanded and technically improved version of the multi-award-winning sE top seller sE2200a II C.
While the hand-made capsule and the output transformer especially made for sE are installed unchanged in the new version sE2200, the modern, more powerful electronics ensure the best signal fidelity, an even shorter signal path and even lower self-noise at a top level. sE continues to do without integrated circuits and instead relies on proven Class A technology with high-quality, discrete components. Modern, surface-mounted components enable true-to-original sound and an even higher level of consistency and reliability than the previous models. The distinctive design of the sE2200 and its outstanding sound have remained the same.

Language, song and more
The sE2200 is mainly used for voice and vocal recordings in the studio. However, it is also being used more and more to pick up drums and electric guitars - even on stage. With its hand-made large-diaphragm capsule, the shielded output transformer and the discreetly constructed Class A circuit, it offers a noble sound, low inherent noise and a balanced frequency response, which makes it suitable for a variety of applications.

Double membrane technology for an enhanced sound experience
The sE2200 has a fixed, cardioid directional characteristic. However, as with microphones with switchable directional characteristics, two gold-coated membranes are used to ensure the best possible sound quality. The high-quality capsules are manufactured exclusively by hand in its own production facility and are individually tailored. With its large membrane capsule, sE relies exclusively on real condenser technology with external polarization.

That "certain something" of classic studio microphones
The high-quality capsule and the carefully selected, discreet components convince with a soft and at the same time present sound in many applications. Integrated circuits (ICs) are deliberately avoided in order not to compromise. The low self-noise, the consistent manufacturing quality and the high sensitivity are made possible by the use of high-quality, surface-mounted components with particularly tight tolerances. As is usual with classic studio microphones, a solidly shielded output transformer ensures interference-free transmission and that "certain something" in terms of airiness and richness of sound.

Attenuation filter with two stages
The attenuation filter (pad) achieves a high degree of flexibility and an expanded dynamic range. The two levels (-10dB and -20dB) prevent overloading of the electronics and the connected microphone preamps or audio interfaces at the beginning of the signal chain. This means that even very loud instruments such as brass and snare drums can be miced up without any problems, even in the near field.

Two-stage LoCut filter
The integrated LoCut can be switched between two levels (80Hz and 160Hz) in order to attenuate unwanted rumbling and footstep noises and to attenuate the close-up effect caused by the near-field microphone.

Robust metal housing and high quality surfaces
The well thought-out construction is particularly durable and effectively shields the electronics from electromagnetic interference fields.
