Description

Two of the world's best concert grand pianos
The P -515 features piano sounds sampled from Yamaha's flagship CFX concert grand piano and the famous Vienna Bösendorfer Imperial grand piano. With these samples you have two of the finest and most famous concert grand pianos at your fingertips at any time.
Exceptionally natural sound
The P -515 features two advanced technologies that allow you to enjoy extremely realistic, natural sound - even when using headphones: Binaural Sampling and Stereophonic Optimizer
Natural Wood X (NWX) Keyboard - The feel of an acoustic grand piano
The NWX keyboard of the P -515 consists of white keys made with the highest quality wooden elements and covered with synthetic ivory. The black keys have synthetic ebony top layers. This keyboard simulates the pressure point known from a concert grand piano. This mechanism ensures that the keys spring back immediately after they are struck to ensure optimal vibration of the strings.
Improved Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM)
Depending on the touch and position of the 88 keys, the P -515 calculates the sound and vibration behavior of the strings in real time, just as they would vibrate in a real concert grand piano. The improved VRM technology also calculates the so-called aliquot resonance of the upper octaves and the soundboard, the rim and the grand piano frame. This creates the bright and varied expression that contains the limitless sum of details that defines the sound of exceptional concert grand pianos.
Powerful built-in speaker system
The P-515 features 15W + 5W amplifiers as well as a 2-way speaker system that delivers an immersive, authentic piano experience with amazing clarity. The P-515 also features a Twisted Flare Port, a Yamaha technology that produces clear and precise bass sound. The fluted, slightly twisted shape dissolves air vortices at the edges of the opening and ensures a much more harmonious air flow. This reduces noise that is not part of the original sound and ensures precise and accurate low frequency reproduction.
Sound and velocity for comfortable piano playing (Piano Room)
You can use the Piano Room function if you want to play the piano easily and conveniently. No matter what settings you have made for voices, etc., you can reach the desired settings for your piano playing at the push of a single button. Create your individual piano sound by adjusting the various parameters such as cover position, string resonance, damper resonance, touch dynamics, etc.
Easy to use with the Smart Pianist app!
With our Smart Pianist app, you can even control the numerous functions of Yamaha digital pianos via your iOS device. Instrument sounds, rhythms and many other settings can be selected directly on the touchscreen. This makes it even easier to operate your P -515. You can save and recall your favorite settings for quick recall at any time. Smart Pianist can even access the songs in your iOS device's music library and create a chord chart. This way you can bring your personal hits to the stage.
